Title: Human Resources Coordinator
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Date: February 2012
Purpose and Role:
The HR Coordinator will serve as a point of contact for staff concerning Renfrew policies and procedures. As a resource for staff and management, the HR Coordinator will be involved with employee relation matters. The HR Coordinator will help promote Renfrew in the community and foster a positive company culture.
Responsibilities and Activities:
- Point of contact for staff concerning policies and procedures and HR support services
- Ability to speak to policy and procedure in any given situation
- Ensure policies are kept up to date and adhere to employment standards
- Follow up with employees on areas where policies and procedures are not being adhered to
Accountable for full recruitment process
- Prepare job descriptions and ensure that mediums are used within budget
- Pre-screen applicants; set up interviews and actively participate in interview and reference checks
- Compile hiring packages, including offer letters, mandatory forms and benefits enrollment.
- New employee orientation and ensure proper on boarding
- May occasionally require travel within Alberta
Support for management and business development
- Facilitate and support the learning and professional development of all levels of staff.
- Provide guidance through the performance review process
- Support management in the identification, attraction and retention of potential candidates for succession planning
Compensation and benefits
- Ability to answer general questions regarding payroll and benefits
- Assist employees and management with disability leaves
Administrative Duties
- Ensure employee files are maintained and accurate
- Updating HR information page on internal and external Renfrew website
- Take part in employee meetings
- Support and advisor to the Renfrew Social Committee
- Recommend process improvements
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Completion of post secondary education in Human Resources or a related degree.
- CHRP designation required
- Ms Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
- Knowledge of employment standards and applicable legislation
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to manage empathy with sound judgment
- Work in a fast pace, ability to work with shifting priorities
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with all levels of staff
- Communicate verbally and written
- Remain positive and act in a professional manner
- Pleasant, friendly and personable
- Knowledge on current HR Trends

Division: Commercial - Calgary

Purpose and Role:
The Customer Service Representatives role is to ensure exceptional client service to Renfrew’s Commercial Insurance clientele.
Responsibilities and Activities:
- Assisting the Producer in client service duties.
- Weekly renewal reviews.
- Prioritizing and managing daily phone calls, e-mails and mail.
- Providing timely responses to client queries.
- Meeting with team members to check on challenges and give direction.
- Assisting with marketing of accounts and attend client meetings as necessary.
- Problem solving regarding different coverages, rating, claims and competition.
- Administration associated with client service – record notes, instructions, changes, new submissions, renewal submissions, letters, claim reporting.
- Managing activities in TAM, all activities reviewed daily.
- Review claim notices and ensure a timely reporting to carrier(s).
- Ongoing projects as assigned.
- Complete duties according to Corporate Policies and Procedures as outlined in the Operations manual.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Level 2 Alberta Broker License
- 5+ years experience in Commercial Insurance
- Realty experience is will be considered an asset.
- Proficient in TAM, Outlook, Work and Excel.
- Positive attitude
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast paced file free environment.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong team player.
